Terms of Use

Last updated: August 11, 2026

[Draft — reviewed and completed by the site operator before launch. Bracketed text marks details that need to be filled in or confirmed, including the governing law and any subscription cancellation/refund specifics.]

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of ancientlibraryguild.com (the “Site”), operated by [operator’s legal name / business entity] (“the Guild,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Site, you agree to these Terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, and at least 18 to purchase a paid guild membership. By registering, you confirm you meet this requirement.

Your account

You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Let us know right away at support@ancientlibraryguild.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

Your content

Everything you post — your author bio, book listings, cover images, and tournament entries — remains your property. By posting it on the Site, you grant the Guild a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, reproduce, and promote that content as part of operating the Site (for example, showing your book in the Library or your entry on a Tournament page).

You confirm that anything you post:

  • Is either your own original work, or you have the right to post it
  • Doesn’t infringe anyone else’s copyright or other rights
  • Isn’t illegal, defamatory, or knowingly false

Guild membership & payments

Paid guild tiers (currently Lorekeeper and Archmage) are billed on a recurring basis through Stripe, monthly or yearly as you choose. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your account; access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing period. [Confirm refund policy — e.g. no refunds for partial periods except where required by law.]

Tournaments

Tournaments are community-voted writing contests. Entry and voting are free — no purchase is necessary to enter or vote. Prizes are non-monetary (for example, free guild membership time or promotional placement on the Site) and are awarded at the Guild’s discretion based on the published rules for each Tournament. We may disqualify entries or votes that we reasonably believe involve fraud, plagiarism, or manipulation (e.g. fake accounts used to vote).

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Post content that’s illegal, hateful, harassing, or plagiarized
  • Attempt to manipulate voting or rankings (e.g. fake accounts, vote buying)
  • Interfere with the Site’s normal operation or security
  • Use the Site to impersonate someone else

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our reasonable discretion.

Disclaimers

The Site is provided “as is.” We work to keep it reliable and accurate, but we don’t guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted, and we’re not responsible for the content authors post (including book descriptions, links, or tournament entries).

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction, e.g. Bulgaria], without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Site evolves. We’ll update the date at the top when we do, and material changes will be communicated to registered users.
